Shaftesbury Town councillors will hire a £2,500-a-day planning barrister for one day to see whether the Planning Inspector’s decision to build a new estate at Enmore Court can be overturned.
There’s been strong condemnation of proposals to build 23 homes on the triangle of land alongside the B3081 Shaftesbury to Gillingham road. Planning chairman Virginia Edwyn-Jones said the council had to be seen to be acting on behalf of residents and could not just ‘roll over’.
