Shaftesbury Town Councillors Want To Commit £20k To Mampitts Square Plans

Shaftesbury Town Council is convinced that estate developer Persimmon will proceed with plans to transfer land at Mampitts Square to the Town Hall.

That is despite a legal challenge from locals who want to take on the open space and access ‘section 106’ cash to build a play park and hall on it.

Now town councillors want to set aside £20,000 in next year’s budget to show their commitment to the estate. They have not yet determined how that money could be spent.
