Shaftesbury Town Council’s ‘Unprecedented’ £14k Award To Benefits Advice Services

<

Shaftesbury Town Council should continue to pay the Citizens Advice Bureau £4,000 annually in support of their benefits and rights information service.

Councillors on the General Management committee made that recommendation ahead of next week’s Full Council meeting.

Tuesday’s ‘GEM’ committee also recommended awarding £10,000 to Open House, the not-for-profit service run from Father’s House.

As Alfred reports, that request to fund an employee was backed by councillors, but it didn’t receive unanimous support. The full council will decide on Tuesday.
