Should Shaftesbury’s Mayor Serve A Double Term?

Shaftesbury’s mayor usually serves for a term of one year, but this could change due to COVID.

Shaftesbury Town Council’s annual public meeting is usually held in May and the mayor is chosen during this public session. But it hasn’t happened this year because of COVID.

Cllr Tim Cook’s 12-month service is due to end. Next week, he will ask his fellow councillors whether they want him to continue for a second year, or whether the council has alternative plans.
