Ticket-Only Session Will Discuss Way Forward For Mampitts Square Project

Shaftesbury Town Council is holding a public meeting on Tuesday the 29th of June to discuss their next steps in developing additional community facilities for the Mampitts Square area.

You’ll need a ticket as attendance numbers are limited.

The Town Council hopes to be gifted over £600,000 in section 106 funding from estate developer Persimmon. But a rival group, a community interest company which includes town councillor Peter Yeo, is pursuing Dorset Council for the cash and the plot.

Shaftesbury Town Council want to recruit six eastern development residents to serve on a working group. As you’ll hear in our report, the suitability of applicants will be scored against pre-determined measures.
