Two-way traffic is set to return to Shaftesbury High Street on Sundays as the temporary pedestrianisation is relaxed.
Buses will drive down the High Street from 1st September and taxis could be introduced at a later date.

Shaftesbury Town Council’s surveys revealed significant business and community support for the temporary traffic restriction, introduced to allow safe social distancing. But in our interviews, the chairman of Shaftesbury Chamber of Commerce, Virginia Edwyn-Jones, and Shaftesbury town councillor, Alex Chase, claim this decision was Dorset Council’s.
