The landlords of three Shaftesbury area pubs say that they are relieved by the introduction of the tier 3 rules.
Ciaran Holmes of East Stour’s Kings Arms says trade ‘dropped off’ under tier 2, even though his pub is considered a food destination. As Ciaran has been forced to close because of tier 3 restrictions, he is hopeful that the government will offer financial support.
Nina Blackwell of the Grove Arms and Half Moon Inn agrees that the tier 2 regulations were too confusing. Nina’s Shaftesbury pub has been closed since October. She tells Alfred when she thinks the Half Moon Inn is likely to reopen.
Both Nina and Ciaran will offer a takeaway service.
