Climate Activists Hold ‘Ceremony Of Nothing’ Over Dorset Council’s Climate Response

Extinction Rebellion have held a Sunday protest in Dorchester to highlight what they claim is the lack of climate change action by Dorset Council during the two years since the local authority declared a climate emergency.

Dorset Council’s lead member for climate change, Ray Brian, has previously listed the work his team has undertaken in addressing the emergency. You’ll hear his statement from February, where he says that Dorset Council’s carbon neutral target date cannot be brought forward 10 years from the current 2040 goal without additional cost to the ratepayer.
