New Town Council Collaboration Means More Wildflower Verges For Shaftesbury

What’s your opinion on Shaftesbury Town Council’s wildflower verge trial? On Tuesday, councillors heard it’s been popular so it’s going to continue.

But one town councillor wants changes made for road safety reasons, as you’ll hear in our report.

Five different types of seed were sown across four local sites for this experiment last year. The project needs tweaking to bring greater environmental benefits. A wildflower verge committee is being set up and Planet Shaftesbury will take part.
