Shaftesbury Town Council Hasn’t Found A Glyphosate Alternative – Yet

Shaftesbury Town Council is struggling to find an alternative to the controversial weedkiller glyphosate.

Environmental activists oppose its use, particularly as Shaftesbury has been declared a bee-friendly community. In September, the chemical was removed from a list of resources used to maintain the town’s wildflower meadows.

Cllr Tim Cook, who chaired Tuesday evening’s Shaftesbury Town Council Recreation and Open Spaces Committee, said the chemical may still be needed for selected purposes.
