Shaftesbury Town Council Restricts Use Of Glyphosate – But Can’t Ban Its Use

Shaftesbury Town Council has dropped references to the controversial weedkiller glyphosate in its wildflower verges policy, which was approved last night.

But the Town Council has not banned the use of the chemical entirely. Tree group member Angela King told last night’s meeting that a ban had been expected six years ago, in line with the town’s bee-friendly goal. Cllr Alex Chase told Alfred why the Town Council can’t bar the use of the herbicide.
